Men's Cashmere (Alpaca) scarf from LMKG

I found this pattern in a book called Last Minute Knitted Gifts. Well, kind of. You can actually find the pattern here since it was completely wrong in the book. I think this is a stitch called broken rib.

Anyway, this scarf was knit in knitpicks' decadence, which is a 100% alpaca scarf. I'm giving it to my grandpa for Christmas.

I knit the scarf about 60" long and then I blocked it (by putting water all over it and then laying it on a towel and shaping it). It's now about 70" long. Who knew it would do that?! So it's a nice long scarf and alpaca is supposed to be really nice and warm. Hopefully this will help to ease Grandpa's transition from Florida winters to Michigan winters. 000_0114

hi there-
how many skeins of decadence did you use? it's lovely! i made this with a less bulky yarn for my boyfriend and it curled something awful - any sign of curling here?

I used 1.5 skeins of decadence. It did curl a little, but not much. I blocked it and that took care of it.
